Planes of Existence

The Planes of Existence are distinct, parallel dimensions that layer themselves upon each to make up the universe at large. Each plane has its own unique attributes and inhabitants. Below is a list of the known planes of existence:

Mortal Plane

The material world and realm of physical existence where most of creation resides. ‍ ‍

Underworld

The land of the dead. This is the realm of spirits and souls. The Underworld is broken into two distinct areas:

Limbo‍ ‍

Limbo is the first area that a soul enters when they pass on. Here the soul comes to terms with what happened to them and prepares for the journey of their afterlife. It is also the area where souls return to prepare for reincarnation. It is the buffer between the mortal realm and the land of the dead.

Elysium

Elysium is the “true” Underworld, and land of the dead. Here souls come to rest as they work through their mortal life learning to let go of any trauma the soul may have endured and any regrets that may linger.

Astral Plane

The Astral Plane is where the gods reside alongside the Lumina. It is also called the Celestial Plane by some scholars.
