Genesis

In the beginning, there was nothing but void.

From the Void, the Progenitor fashioned the building blocks that formed the world shaping it in their vision. From that single entity sprang four divinities known as the Primordials.

The first, and eldest, of the four was Aeon, keeper of Time, who holds the title of Trikaranos (Three-Faced one) and was charged with maintaining order.

Aeon was quickly followed by the twins Meraki and Ataraxus. Meraki, Dawn-bringer, with a spring to her step, sowed the seeds of life. So full of energy, she radiated like a sun and even her very touch gave birth to new life. The once barren landscape of the realms soon bristled with the whirring of young elementals while lush gardens erupted throughout the lands as flora and fauna opened their eyes for the first time. With Elementals and Fae being the first children, they were christened as the Doyenne. It is said that Meraki cherishes the Doyenne above all others.

While his sister populated the realms of the living, Ataraxus, Oathbound, prepared his hallowed halls so that his sister’s children would want for nothing, a small comfort to those they would inevitably leave behind as nothing lasts forever.

Last, but not least, was the Dread-Titan, whose name has been erased from history and was regarded with disdain among the quartet—particularly from Meraki. Where Aeon is order, the youngest sibling is chaos. The Dread Titan retreated to the void, a no-man’s land that separates the mortal realm from the astral, shrouding themselves in a storm of roiling energy and darkness preferring to fulfil their role independently from their kins’ harmony.

Their initial work done, the remaining Primordials retreated from the mortal realms to the Astral Plane, a limitless realm where even the divine does not need to hide their true selves, to preserve the grand design. Their true selves rest in their celestial domains as they watch over the fabric of space-time and ensure its preservation. They are known to send fractions of themselves, like an astral projection, to walk among the mortals from time to time.

Knowing their time in the mortal realms was limited, Meraki, with input from her twin and eldest sibling, fashioned three new races collectively known as the Archons. Their purpose was to help cultivate and protect the cosmos and its inhabitants. Per Aeon’s request, she first fashioned the Lumina, a race that draw their essence from the stars and reside in the Astral plane to assist the Primordials, taking residence in the domains of the gods they serve. For Ataraxus, Meraki crafted the Umbrae, incorporeal shades able to traverse the liminal spaces between the realms of the living and the dead to ferry souls through their journey of reincarnation. The Umbrae call the liminal realms and the halls of the dead their home. Lastly, for her own benefit and to tend to the Fae in the world of the living, Meraki raised humanity.
