Ataraxus
Ataraxus is one of the four primordial gods created by the Progenitor at the beginning of time. Unlike his twin sister, Meraki, he is one of the most feared gods in existence. Ataraxus is described to be a gaunt, silver-haired man wearing a long black robe accompanied by his two hellhounds, Argus and Nedjem. Ataraxus rules over the Underworld and, with the aid of the Umbrae, shepherds souls who have been severed from their mortal coil to protect them, as they rest in paradise and prepare for reincarnation.
Depictions of Ataraxus can be found alongside his twin in hospitals or in cemeteries.
Sphere of Influence
While Ataraxus is the god of Death, he is also the god of Medicine—although that duality is often forgotten in the public eye.
